BOC changes prerequisites

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) recently changed its prerequisites for becoming a certified orthotist or prosthetist by adding both a graduation and residency requirement, according to a press release. The organization now requires graduation from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), followed by a residency approved by the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE), the release noted.
