AAA Medical stretches out

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - AAA Medical Sales recently traded in a cumbersome four-level location in Englewood, Colo., for a one-level location here that boasts 12,000 square feet of space.
The provider made the move, in part, to streamline operations. With one floor and more space, it was able to create several fitting and evaluation rooms, and a custom shop.
AAA Medical was also able to place reimbursement and support staff on site to answer questions.
The provider has already been rewarded for its move: It has shaved five to 10 days off the time it takes to move an order from evaluation to delivery, said Michele Longo, president.
"The way things are laid out on one floor, everything is just more efficient," said Longo, who holds an advanced degree in engineering from the University of Virginia.
AAA Medical's new location also features a "demo trial site" that allows customers to test drive custom manual and power wheelchairs and scooters, as well as seating/positioning systems.
The frosting on the cake: The new location is situated in a residential area with easy access to a major highway.
"It's nice because there are trees and houses around, but we're five minutes from downtown Denver," Longo said.
AAA Medical has 35 employees on its payroll, including a network of PTs and technicians in the northern and southern regions of the state who allow the provider to service all of Colorado.
