AHP expands patient support operations

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – American HomePatient announced this week that it plans to open a new call center in Longview, Texas, to accommodate a “rapidly growing respiratory patient base.”

Employees at the facility, scheduled to open in August, will contact patients to monitor their therapy and provide ongoing support, according to a company release.

AHP plans to invest about $80 million over 10 years into the call center, mostly for payroll and benefits for staff, according to local news reports. It plans to hire at least 200 employees over the next three to four years.

AHP is currently hiring outbound sales specialists for the call center, according to its website.

AHP’s expanded patient support operations have the backing of Dallas-based Highland Capital Management, which manages the funds that own the company.

“American HomePatient’s investment in Longview is an important component of the company’s growth strategy and demonstrates Highland’s commitment to American HomePatient,” stated Patrick Daugherty, head of private equity.

American HomePatient already has a contact center in Nashville, Tenn.
