SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Robert Fary, former director of respiratory services at Apria, has joined Inogen as vice president of sales. Inogen has developed a new nine-pound oxygen concentrator that the company claims will satisfy a patient’s stationary and ambulatory needs.

Fary is well known in the industry for his leadership and decades of experience, as well as business and governmental lobbying efforts.

“Every so often something happens that can dramatically change an industry,” Fary said. “I think Inogen’s innovation is one of the most exciting and disruptive events to touch the oxygen therapy industry in decades. I’m excited to be part of it and offer my experience.”

Inogen expects FDA clearance on its Inogen One shortly and to begin shipping the product in the first quarter of 2004.

In addition to Fary, Inogen has assembled a team of experienced health care entrepreneurs, skilled technologists, well known clinicians and home healthcare veterans to develop innovative solutions to respiratory home healthcare challenges, the company stated in a release.
