Apria and Lincare continue to acquire

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Lincare acquired three companies with annual revenues of about $3 million in the first quarter of 2004. The acquired businesses were located in Arizona, California and Missouri. Lincare added 18 operating centers in the first quarter, six of those from acquisitions and 12 from internal expansion.
Apria acquired seven companies for about $42 million in the first quarter of 2004, increasing its penetration in the Southeast and Texas markets, according to the company's first quarter financials. The company expects to exceed $100 million in acquisitions this year, stated CEO Lawrence M. Higby.
