LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three universities, including the University of Louisville, have secured a $5-million, five-year grant to operate a center dedicated to studying and improving safety for wheelchair users who ride on buses. The other two universities involved: the University of Michigan and the University of Pittsburgh. The universities will operate as part of a network of research groups known as Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers (RERCs) that are funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research.
