Trac signs five more deals SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Five more HME companies have agreed to use Trac Medical Solutions' CareCert e-CMN: Neighborcare in Annapolis Junction, Md.; Promptcare in Clark, N.J.; Patients First Pulmonary in Villa Park, Ill.; Shuman Health Care in Waycross, Ga.;Total Home Health, Inc. in Elgin, Ill. Trac has reached agreements with a total of 11 companies, three of which have gone live with e-CMNs. Jeffrey Frankel, Trac's president, calls the five new contracts evidence of a “groundswell” of interest in the company's e-CMN product. Medline opens new manufacturing facility MUNDELEIN, Ill. — Medline Industries opened a new 145,000 square-foot manufacturing facility to produce pre-moistened bathing and cleaning products, including its ReadyBath ready-to-use disposable bathing system. Located in Waukegan, Ill., the new structure includes state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities. This is the company's sixth manufacturing facility, all located in North America. Medline will also open a new 217,525-sq-ft manufacturing and assembly facility in July in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. MTS buys Scan Medical WESTON, Mass. — Mobility Transfer Systems, a 10-year-old vendor specializing in patient assist handles, is adding transfer boards, gait belts, gurneys and patient transfer and mobility slides to its product line. After several months of negotiating, MTS acquired Scan Medical of Belvadere, Calif., in late February. MTS has consolidated operations in Mawssachusetts. “It's a great addition to our product line,” said MTS owner Thomas Leoutsakos. “It's a great asset to our customer base. It really complements the products we already sell.” Leoutsakos said his 20-employee company was the first on the market to offer bed handles. By expanding its product line he is anticipating a 25% increase within the first year. Mobility Transfer Systems' products, Leoutsakos said, are not driven by Medicare reimbursements, providing a good cash sale for suppliers. “This is a great in-road into other distribution areas, other venues,” he said.
