Tricare promises

to fix claims issues

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) has been working with the Department of Defense to resolve claims issues with Tricare—the healthcare program that covers military families outside of the military. The two main problems experienced by home infusion providers: When infusion supplies are billed on the same date of service as a nursing visit, Tricare has been denying the supplies; and the Tricare For Life plan, which covers healthcare claims secondary to Medicare, has been automatically rejecting claims for home infusion therapy denied by Medicare as not medically necessary.
