Briefs: The Medical Store gains access

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Medical Store, a nonprofit offering new and used medical equipment, celebrated the grand opening of its new location in the Northpoint Corporate Park in May. The new location "brings access to a product showroom, respiratory therapy treatment options, in-house repairs and a fully stocked warehouse," said David Fielding, president and CEO of Spectrum Health, which operates The Medical Store, to a local newspaper.
Gentiva becomes home health giant
ATLANTA - Gentiva Health Services will acquire Odyssey HealthCare for about $1 billion in cash, creating "the largest U.S. healthcare provider focused on home health and hospice services," it announced in May. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2010.
