CA: Number of uninsured to rise

ATLANTA - Coalition America (CA), a healthcare technology company working to help other companies control costs, expects the recession to result in an increase in the number of patients without health insurance. Until now, that number had been on the decline, according to Census Bureau data. "There is a direct link between the strength of the economy and the number of families who can obtain private health insurance," said Sean Smith, CEO. Coalition America says it's focusing on ways to control those rising costs by developing primary PPO management programs across multiple locations; offering access to lower-cost supplemental networks for out-of-network costs; and directing negotiations with healthcare providers in which no PPO contract exists.
