CMS updates LCDs for PMDs, seating

WASHINGTON - CMS updated its local coverage determinations (LCDs) for power mobility devices and wheelchair seating in May. There were no substantive changes, according to industry sources. In the LCD for PMDs, for instance, CMS removed references to the DMERCs, which have been replaced by PSCs. The LCD for PMDs also rehashed previous changes to coding descriptions, such as the revised basic equipment package. In all, CMS updated LCDs for 17 policies.
