Competitive bidding: It's not too late to tell CMS what you think

WASHINGTON - Suppliers who have not yet responded to invitations to participate in a study on the impact of national competitive bidding could receive follow-up calls from research group Abt Associates, beginning Oct. 26. As required by the 2003 Medicare Modernization Act (MMA), CMS contracted Abt to study NCB's impact, particularly its effects on product mix available to beneficiaries. The survey analyzes the market's product mix as a whole, rather than the product mix of individual providers. Abt is surveying DMEPOS suppliers, selected at random, to answer questions via a secure on-line Web site. Participation is voluntary and not participating will not impact a provider's relationship with Medicare. The survey analyzes the market's product mix as a whole, rather than the product mix of individual providers. For more information about the survey or if you have lost or misplaced your login information, please contact Brenda Rodriguez at Abt Associates at 617-349-2544.
