Computer snafu leads to bag denials

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--A glitch in Noridian's system has led to claim denials for urological drain bags (A4357) in Jurisdiction D. All claims for service dates after Jan. 2, 2009, were wrongly denied as not medically necessary. Noridian, the DME MAC, said it would retrieve all files and reprocess the claims, according to the California Association of Medical Product Suppliers.
