DeVilbiss patents SmartCode technology

SOMERSET, Pa. - DeVilbiss Healthcare has been awarded a patent for its SmartCode Remote Therapy Monitoring system, the company announced April 10. SmartCode technology compresses summary therapy and device usage data into onboard, encrypted codes clinicians and providers can read online. “The Smartcode feature is a simple, accurate and reliable way to communicate usage and therapy data,” said Allan Jones, research and development director at DeVilbiss. “We are delighted to be able to exclusively offer this feature to our customers and users with every IntelliPAP device.” Patients can also key into the data, which the company says keeps them engaged and can enhance therapy's efficacy.
