New York City - With diabetes expected to increase exponentially in the coming years, new research shows a rapidly escalating market for diagnostic and therapeutic products to manage the disease. What's more, combined sales of these products are expected to surpass $33 billion by 2016, according to the latest research from Kalorama Information, Diabetes and Diabetic Complications: Major World Markets. Monitoring and testing products--which currently include small hand-held monitors and disposable test strips and cartridges, but also moving into newer non-invasive blood glucose assays--show the greatest potential for growth, with 2006 sales ringing up at approximately $18 billion.
