Drive acquires mobility vendor

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. - Citing the opportunity to add innovative product lines and a key executive, Drive Medical has signed an agreement to purchase Lifestyle Mobility Aids, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based manufacturer. The acquisition, which Drive President Harvey Diamond hoped to complete last month, will give the Port Washington, N.Y.-based supplier possession of Lifestyle's rollator line, which has a patented drum brake that requires less maintenance than more conventional models, he said. Drive also picks up the "wheelchair in a bag," a wheelchair that folds up into a handy carrying case.
