Drive Medical finalizes Dr. K acquisition

February 2 , 2004 PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. - Drive Medical Design & Manufacturing completed its acquisition of Dr. K late last month. The Monrovia, Calif. manufacturer produces a line similar to the Drive brand that includes walkers, homecare beds, bathroom safety products, commodes, wheelchairs, mobility products, canes and crutches, respiratory equipment and electrotherapy devices. As a result of the acquisition, the Drive and Dr. K brands will be merged. According to Harvey Diamond, Drive's president, “The acquisition of Dr. K will be seamless to our customers. We will service our expanded customer base through our East Coast and West Coast customer service departments and with our combined inventory and distribution centers, which will significantly improve delivery times to customers throughout the country.” Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
