Graham-Field expands in United States, China

September 13, 2004 ATLANTA - Graham-Field Health Products announced last week that it was launching a container-direct program for customers in the United States, opening three new distribution centers in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New Jersey and a 50,000 square-foot distribution center in mainland China. With its new Direct-Ship program, G-F customers will be able to custom configure 40 foot containers. “We have always had this capability with our manual wheelchairs and we can now do it with our extensive line of patient aids,” said Mike Norby, Graham-Field's vice president of sales and marketing. Norby said customers can lower their costs significantly by purchasing high volume products like folding walkers, commodes and nebulizers through the new program. Containers are typically delivered in 45 days. In Atlanta, G-F has expanded its distribution facility to 92,000 square feet; the East Rutherford distribution center will be 105,000 square feet and the Los Angeles facility will be 35,000 square feet. Graham-Field's main distribution center is located in St. Louis, Mo.  Select beds and furnishings are also stocked and shipped out of Graham-Field's Fond-du-Lac, Wisc manufacturing facility. “Our new distribution network has been designed to stock and then ship our key products the same day they are ordered,” said Norby.
