HDI reports profit

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--Diabetes manufacturer Home Diagnostics in March reported a 6.4% increase in revenues for the fourth quarter of 2008. Total revenue for the quarter was $29.5 million, up from $27.8 million for the same quarter in 2007. Gross profit for the quarter was $15.1 million compared to $16.4 million. Retail sales were up 14.6%, driven by the launch of TRUEresult and TRUE2go monitoring systems in Walgreens and Rite Aid, and the TRUEtrack in Walmart. In other news, HDI has hired Joseph Capper, 45, president and CEO.
