Healthcare reform: House inches forward, Senate delays

The House's Energy and Commerce Committee is expected today to join two other committees in approving draft healthcare reform legislation.

Just Business From an HME standpoint, industry stakeholders expect Energy and Commerce legislation to be “fundamentally similar” to the Ways and Means and Education and Labor legislation (See blog below for HME-related provisions).

In the Senate, leaders on the Finance Committee are expected to begin action on healthcare reform legislation by Sept. 15, according to various news reports.

Industry stakeholders encourage providers to reach out to lawmakers during their five-week August recess, which starts today for the House and starts one week later for the Senate.
