HME Expo: The show doesn't go on

ATLANTA - The organizers of the HME Exposition & Conference announced today that they have discontinued their event.

“With the economy and our industry struggling, it is not necessary to develop an additional event,” stated Cory Smith, vice president of marketing for Access Business Media, in a release.

The HME Expo took place April 21-23 in Baltimore.

Organizers thanked speakers, exhibitors and attendees for their support. They also encouraged these same people to support the industry's existing events, Medtrade and Medtrade Spring, and associations like AAHomecare.

“Although this turned out to be an inopportune time for our new event, the fundamental value of a tradeshow/face-to-face event has not changed,” stated Kevin Bird, vice president of sales for Access Business Media, in the release. “This industry has been through a lot and I know with the leadership at Medtrade and AAHomecare, it will be able to weather this storm, as well.”
