Invacare builds second facility in China

ELYRIA, Ohio - Invacare is expanding its manufacturing operations in China with the development of an additional manufacturing plant, scheduled to open in the third quarter. Earlier this year Invacare opened a facility in Suzhou Industrial Park.
Invacare publicized its Far Eastern efforts in remarks that accompanied publication of its financial results for the second quarter, ending June 30.
The company's 2nd quarter North American sales ($249 million) grew by 17% over last year's second quarter. Respiratory sales increased by 16% while sales of standard products declined by 1%.
Sales of rehab products jumped by 19% with acquisitions accounting for 14 percentage points of the sales increase.
Invacare Supply Group sales increased 31% with acquisitions
accounting for 18 percentage points of the sales increase.
Slow reimbursement or power wheelchair claims stalled Invacare's days sales outstanding from 64 days last year to 67 days this year.
