ELYRIA, Ohio - Invacare took another step this fall toward becoming a one-stop-shop for providers seeking a single-source supplier of oxygen equipment.
In September, just a few weeks after it released a continuous flow portable oxygen concentrator, the company debuted its first ever line of conservers and a refurbished line of regulators.
“You've got these things that are bread and butter and don't have the sex appeal of a portable concentrator, but they are important to running your day-to-day oxygen business,” said Joe Lewarski, vice president of the Invacare respiratory group. “We want to be able to go to a customer and say, 'You don't need to go anywhere else for your oxygen.'”
While Invacare's respiratory business revolves around stationary concentrators and non-delivery technology like the HomeFill, the company has begun looking at ancillary products more seriously, both as a way to generate new revenue and to meet customer needs, Lewarski said.
“We have a line of oximeters today that we believe need refreshing and we are working on that,” he said. “The thing we are missing now are soft goods, tubing and cannulas, and we are looking at internal and external opportunities.”
