In nearly a year since last year’s Medtrade show, the industry has had scant time to catch its breathe.

Just when it looked like competitive bidding might be on the ropes, it re-emerged as part of Medicare reform legislation. Only this time it’s doing a jig with a handful of other scary ghouls: a proposed seven-year CPI freeze and an all-out attack on the average wholesale pricing (AWP) methodology for Medicare drug reimbursement. To name just two.

This year’s Medtrade shows presents a welcome respite for the battle weary, a chance to break bread with friends, do some business and recharge your batteries for the challenging days sure to come.
