LifeGas pumps up N.J., N.Y. business

CLEVELAND - Medical gas distributor LifeGas expanded its marketshare in New Jersey and New York City when it acquired Wesco Oxygen in August. LifeGas currently operates a medical gas facility in Dayton, N.J. Wesco's central New Jersey location will be rolled into the Dayton operation, said LifeGas President Mike Walsh. "It was a strategic fit because they were doing exactly what we were doing," Walsh said. "There were a lot of synergies." LifeGas is the medical gas business unit of the Gas and Engineering Division of Linde AG.
