Lynncore leaps into online DME

SHERMAN, Texas - Incontinence guru Lynncore MedGroup in December expanded its online product offerings to include DME like scooters and bath safety. "There's a giant need out there," said Shane Cessnun, IT manager. "We already do DME equipment. Why not do it online?" It's just the latest step for the nearly nine-year-old company, which began offering incontinence products online last year. Internet sales now comprise 25% of total sales. Shopping online offers customers convenience and savings, said CEO Will Cates. Lynncore buys in bulk, allowing the company to offer a wider selection of items and lower pricing to customers. "People want access and they want it easy, and we provide both," he said. "Our turnaround time is usually two days." Rollators are a popular choice among adult children buying for their parents; both seniors and their offspring purchase scooters, Cessnun said. Lynncore has a network of representatives throughout the country who call on doctors and other caregivers to promote their services and walk them through the Web site. Reps are also available to go into a patient's home to help with equipment setup. "The staff is dedicated to making a difference in people's lives," said Cates. "That pushes us forward." While Internet sales are strictly cash, the ACHC-accredited Lynncore accepts Medicare (50% of sales) and private insurance (25%). Lynncore will continue to expand its online business and increase cash sales, said Cessnun. "We like private payers," he said. "There's not as much paperwork."
