LUBBOCK, Texas -  The MED Group has hired Bill Elliott as its chief executive officer.  Elliott succeeds David A. Miller, who will remain active with MED as chairman of the board.
“The Board and I are confident that the appointment of Bill Elliott as our new CEO positions us well to bring ever increasing value to our customers,” David Miller said.
Bill Elliott added, “I am enthusiastic about this opportunity with MED.  The quality of the MED Membership and staff excites me. I look forward to serving them.”
David Miller continued.  “Bill brings an impressive listing of accomplishments from his thirty years as a leader in healthcare. As head of VHA’s Group Purchasing Organization, he led the introduction of several key strategies that broadened the product portfolio, increased clinical relevance and resulted in significant increases in member value and business growth. He also understands the challenges and opportunities in distribution as shown by his experience as President of Bergen Brunswig Medical where he led it to new rates of growth and operational excellence.  The breadth of his experiences, including leadership roles in managed care, e-commerce and manufacturing, will be vital as MED continues to explore ways of bringing value to its members.”
