MED signs mobility products agreement with Pride Mobility

March 31, 2003 LUBBOCK, Texas - The MED Group and Pride Mobility Products reached a new purchasing agreement for power chairs, scooters and lift chairs last month. The selection of Pride Mobility is a result of the MED's recently announced new Request For Proposal vendor contracts process. Proposals were received for a wide variety of product categories from major vendors in the industry, including mobility products. “Pride Mobility is a known leader in the mobility products arena, providing innovative products with a keen commitment to customer satisfaction,” said Scott Austin, Senior Vice President of Vendor Relations with The MED Group. “Pride Mobility recognizes the needs of the MED Group providers. This new agreement is designed to improve both cash flow and margins for our members allowing them to continue to provide a high level of service for the consumers they serve.” Dan Meuser, President of Pride USA commented, “Through this contracting process we've designed programs, set plans and laid out an agenda which will bring great benefits to MED Members. All of us at Pride are very excited to bring our business partnership with The MED Group and MED Members to an even higher level.” As part of its new contracting process, MED has opted to sign fewer contracts with vendors. The expectations is that MED members, working out of more than 800 locations, will do more business with its new “strategic partners.”
