MUNDELEIN, Ill. - Medline announced this week a strategic partnership with Teleflex to distribute its Rüsch brand of specialty urological products.

“This agreement enables us to expand our presence in the operating room and in other healthcare markets with these surgical and personal preference items,” stated Charlie Mills, CEO of Medline, in a press release.

Rüsch products include urinary drainage devices, such as Foley; intermittent catheters; and specialty items for operative urology and endourology.

Per the agreement, Medline's 1,100-person sales force will sell and market Rüsch bladder management products throughout the United States.

“This is an ideal arrangement matching our high quality urological products with Medline's world-class sales force and marketing expertise,” stated Benson Smith, chairman, president and CEO of Teleflex, in the release. “Partnering with Medline provides us with a very large and exciting opportunity to grow this segment of our business.”

Medline is a privately held manufacturer and distributor of more than 125,000 products to hospitals, extended care facilities, surgery centers, physician offices and homecare dealers.
