Mobility coding panel met Feb. 8, 9

BALTIMORE - CMS met with a technical panel on Feb. 8 and 9 in Rockville, Md., to begin the process of developing new mobility codes. Members of the panel included manufacurers like Pride Mobility, Sunrise and Invacare; providers like National Seating & Mobility and Hoveround; and rehab organizations like the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). CMS contracted ECRI to oversee the project. CMS delayed implementing 65 new codes Jan. 1, 2006, to review input from stakeholders.
