NCART Web site now offers Medicaid data

WASHINGTON - NCART this month added a Medicaid section to its Web site that lists fee schedules, coverage policies and court cases by state. The section includes direct links to state documents, ensuring their timeliness, the organization stated in a release.
NCART developed the section to help the industry and state associations respond to their specific payment and coverage issues.
"This is the first time state-by-state information on payment issues and coverage policies has been aggregated in a usable format," stated Doug Westerdahl, chair of NCART's Medicaid Committee and CEO of Monroe Wheelchair in Rochester, N.Y., in the release. "I used it myself to research labor costs across the United States and found the site to be easy and quick to use."
NCART's Medicaid Committee plans to expand the section.
"We anticipate challenging times for complex rehab suppliers around the country this year and in the coming years as states try to rein in their costs and combat fraud and abuse," Westerdahl said. "Many of these challenges have the potential to hurt complex rehab suppliers and their clients, and NCART would like to help them combat some of these onerous challenges."
