NRRTS names Margolis executive director

LAGO VISTA, Texas - The board of directors of NRRTS has named Simon Margolis its first-ever executive director, the organization announced last week. Margolis is a founding board member of NRRTS and a past president of the organization. "I am extremely happy to be back home at NRRTS," Margolis said. "NRRTS registrants are among the most knowledgeable, caring and compassionate in our industry and profession." Last fall, NRRTS President Mike Seidel said the executive director would have several arrows in his quiver: administrative skills, experience as a rehab technology supplier or clinician and political savvy. Margolis will also assume the duties of Judy Vance, who runs NRRTS day-to-day with the help of two part-time personnel. She plans to retire this summer. "(Margolis) has the knowledge, experience and passion to lead NRRTS through the potentially tough times and equally great opportunities facing our industry and profession," Seidel said. Most recently, Margolis spent seven years as the vice president for clinical and professional development for the Nashville, Tenn.-based National Seating & Mobility. His resume also includes a stint as past president of RESNA. Additionally, he's an executive committee member for NCART. NRRTS has 800 registrants.
