NRRTS, NCART rally the troops

WASHINGTON - If you want complex rehab excluded from national competitive bidding, NRRTS and NCART want a few hours of your time this Tuesday, April 22. At 11 a.m. EST, the two groups will hold a conference call to rally support for H.R. 2231, the rehab carve-out bill, and organize a congressional call-in. Officials will ask participants to each call two senators and two representatives. Their message: "H.R. 2231 must pass right away." The bill, sponsored by Rep. Tom Allen, D-Maine, has 38 co-sponsors. It has no Senate companion bill. The call-in is a warm-up to CELA '08, a NRRTS-, NCART- and University of Pittsburgh-sponsored conference that kicks off April 24. The conference will include educational sessions and more than 200 visits with senators and representatives. To participate in the call-in, follow these four steps: 1.) At 11 a.m. EST on April 22, call 1-866-802-8639 (called ID: 44052028) to participate in the conference call. 2.) Go to on www.ncartcoalition.org and enter your zip code for a list of the senators and representatives in your area. 3.) Call two senators and two representatives. 4.) Log your calls at www.ncartcoalition.org. "We strongly urge all suppliers, referral sources, manufacturers and consumers to call their senators and congresspersons on Tuesday the 22nd," stated Paul Bergantino, an NCART board member, in a release.
