O2 Science sales rep picks a winner in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - O2 Science sales rep Michelle Hutchinson hit the jackpot at Medtrade Spring. 02 science sales rep Michelle Hutchinson (left) hit the jackpot at Medtrade Spring in Las Vegas, winning a fully restored 1965 Mustang. “I feel like I am going to faint,” the Seattle resident said after winning a fully restored 1965 Mustang. As part of its Wild, Wild West Sales and Management Conference, the Phoenix-based respiratory provider put up the car - a real cherry - as a way to motivate employees to participate fully in the meetings and seminars. To be eligible to win the car, employees had to be on time for all the meetings and answer two questions related to each. They also had to visit key vendors. “We knew they were paying attention,” said CEO Mark Hanley. On the last day of the show, 02 Science employees drew numbers from 1 to 20. The person who drew number one, picked a key from a pile of 20 and tried to open the Mustang's trunk with it. So it went until Hutchinson, at number 18, tried her luck. She inserted the key, turned it, the trunk popped open, a rush of colored helium balloons poured out. Pandemonium followed - a real Las Vegas moment. Hugs. Whoops and hollers. Raised arms. Smiles all around. You half expected Donald Trump to come striding into the room. “Oh my God, I can't believe it. I won!” a dazed Hutchinson exclaimed as she wandered around the room. Hutchinson currently drives a 1994 Nissan Sentra with a bullet hole in the right front fender from a drive-by shooting. “I really needed a new car,” she said.
