BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Customers placing an order with themedicalsupplydepot.com could find themselves dealing with President Meir Tsinman. "I like to make sure that the customers are happy," said Tsinman, "not just sit back in my office." The company celebrated its first anniversary Dec. 1 with a re-launch of its Web site, a new live assistance feature and a new e-gift card. Themedicalsupplydepot.com offers more than 25,000 products, including incontinence and diabetic supplies, bath safety products and a full line of DME like walkers, canes and rollators. The company advertises on several major search engines but old-fashioned word of mouth is also important, said Tsinman. "If the customers aren't happy, it affects us," said Tsinman. "We're in business to make sure the customer is happy--that's why we get a lot of return customers." Tsinman, who has a computer programming background, aims to keep the site as user-friendly as possible, with clearly-written policies, product specifications and images. Web sites without product images aren't trying hard enough, said Tsinman. "That's not fair to the customer," said Tsinman. "If you click on any of (our) images, they are nice and big and give the customer an idea of what they're looking for." The company works with a network of manufacturers and warehouses to provide the customer with quick, cost-effective delivery. "The bottom line is, people are living longer and need these aids," said Tsinman. "There's a tremendous need for this."
