Philips: Electronics is so yesterday

MURRYSVILLE, Pa.--Royal Philips Electronics wants to shift its focus from home electronics to “health and well-being,” company officials told The New York Times on Dec. 25. “An uptick in world aging and chronic diseases will drive our business” in the future, CFO Pierre-Jean Sivignon told the Times. The article points out that Royal Philips recently bought Respironics and Lifeline, a home healthcare monitoring system.
