RICHMOND, Va.--Owens & Minor has sold its mail-order diabetes business to Liberty Healthcare for $63 million, the company announced Dec. 29. Owens bought the diabetes supply business, which earned about $100 million annually, from Deerfield Beach, Fla.-based AOM Healthcare Solutions in November 2005. AOM's 350 employees were terminated after the announcement. Owens plans to focus on its core business of selling medical and surgical supplies to hospitals and related markets. The Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based Liberty Healthcare is a contract medical-management organization that provides nursing and other services.
