Provider seeks symbiotic partners

ORLANDO, Fla.--Provider David Bruinsma turns away customers looking to fill their prescriptions or buy diabetic shoes all the time. But he's not interested in taking on new product lines. “We have our hands full with DME,” said Bruinsma, general manager of Colonial Medical Supplies. Instead, Bruinsma plans to offer one-stop shopping by partnering with other healthcare providers. Bruinsma recently formed a partnership with a pharmacy, which will lease space in the company's new Altamonte Springs location that will house a retail showroom, corporate offices and a warehouse. He seeks other partnerships with companies that sell orthotics and prosthetics, hearing aids and diabetic shoes.
