ResMed buys CareTouch

ResMed buys CareTouch CareTouch will be rebranded as ResMed ReSupply

SAN DIEGO - ResMed continues to ramp up its service offerings, announcing July 8 that it has bought CareTouch, a provider of Internet-based solutions and therapy-focused resupply programs for HME providers.

“With this acquisition, ResMed is further helping HMEs streamline communications with their patients about ongoing therapy needs,” said Raj Sodhi, president of ResMed's Healthcare Informatics Global Business Unit, in a press release. “Because the CareTouch portal offers personalized and targeted communications between HMEs and patients, they are able to easily stay in touch with, build and manage their patient populations with customized therapy focused outreach.”

CareTouch's 360 portal allows providers to: manage and monitor their patient populations using one solution; provide live, multi-lingual call center contact with patients via their preferred mode of communication; check therapy adherence, take orders, handle payment or collections and provide customized reports; and customize patient engagement protocols for both automated and live call center outreach.

As part of the acquisition, CareTouch will be rebranded as ResMed ReSupply. CareTouch employees, including CEO Matthew Doph, have joined ResMed's commercial team in the Americas.

The CareTouch acquisition follows previous acquisitions of Jaysec, a provider of Internet-based solutions, including GoJaySec, an automated resupply program that directs patients to a self-serve portal, earlier this year; and Umbian, the developer behind U-Sleep, a software program that allows providers to obtain and manage compliance data from CPAP devices, in 2012.
