Respironics, ResMed settle patent lawsuit

SAN DIEGO and MURRYSVILLE, Pa. - The longstanding legal bickering between Respironics and ResMed is over. The two companies announced last month that they had settled all patent infringement lawsuits pending between them. The settlement resolves all matters relating to a 1995 action by ResMed, and the corre-sponding claims and counterclaims by Respironics, pending in the Western District of Pennsylvania; and all matters relating to the 2002 action by ResMed, and the corresponding claims and counterclaims by Respironics, pending in the Southern District of California. The companies have used the courts settle claims and counterclaims about each other's masks, CPAP and ramp features.
