Scooter Store adds Bush confidant to legal team

February 21, 2005 NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - The Scooter Store added some heavy-duty fire power to its legal team in January when Marc Racicot, a member of President George W. Bush's inner circle and a former governor of Montana, joined the nation's largest provider of power wheelchairs. “He is heading up strategy for our legal team,” Scooter Store President Mike Pfister told HME News last month. “The advantage we are getting from him is that he ran campaigns for Bush and understands the concept or campaigning, that that is what our industry needs right now, a campaign to separate and segregate the activities in Harris County from what good suppliers have been doing all along.” Racicot served as Montana's governor from 1993 to 2001. He also served as Montana's attorney general from 1989 to 1992. From 2001 through 2004 he served as chairman of the Republican National Committee, and President Bush thanked him publicly for helping with his re-election campaign.
