Scooter Store donates $1 million to hurricane efforts

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - The Scooter Store donated more than $1 million worth of mobility devices to the American Red Cross and other relief organizations. The gift comprised some 2,000 wheelchairs and 900 canes and walkers. The donation will help disabled victims who were forced to leave their mobility devices behind in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The wheelchairs, canes and walkers were scheduled to be given out free of charge in shelters and distribution centers throughout the Gulf Coast area.
