Sunrise unleashes Web information

LONGMONT, Colo. - Sunrise Medical unveiled its new Web site last month, one that provides a ton of transactional and product information intended to make providers more successful.

The site's offerings include marketing materials and tools; order forms; step-by-step troubleshooting/repair tips; order tracking; current account information; streaming videos and multimedia flash presentations.

"Information is power, and we've given people access to information in a very easy and intuitive way, and people love that," said Mark Ludwig, v.p. of marketing and e-commerce.

Other Web site features include: detailed product and part searches using multiple search modes; serial number inquiry for wheelchairs; wheelchair configuration management; and a more in-depth product catalog with detailed product information ranging from technical specifications to additional literature and documentation.

Sunrise's two additional e-commerce channels include EDI interface with wholesalers and efforts to provide a seamless flow of transactional data with providers.

While small providers most likely don't have the resources to configure their information systems to interface seamlessly with Sunrise, they can take advantage of the company's online configurator and information available on the new Web site, Ludwig said.

"If you have that information, your frustration level is lower and your ability to communicate with the consumer is improved," he said. HME
