Top independent reorganizes management

AMHERST, N.Y. -- One of the most well respected home respiratory equipment providers in the country reorganized its management staff in April to become "a major player in national competitive bidding." In announcing the change, Associated Healthcare Systems founder Don White said that by appointing others to position of increased authority, he'll be able to "step back" and analyze how the company will maneuver through competitive bidding, which is scheduled to be rolled out in 2007. Associated won the 2003-2004 HME Excellence Award for Best Respiratory Provider. White is a former chairman of AAHomecare. Under the new management structure, White will retain the title of CEO. Vice President and COO Peter Storey, who has been with the company for 19 years, becomes president, widening the scope of his internal responsibilities. The new vice president of business development, Elizabeth Woolrich, previously served as director of respiratory and later as patient management center director for the company's Amherst/Buffalo location. She has been with Associated since 1985. New CFO Arletta Samulak started with the company eight years ago as reimbursement manager.
