Trending on Twitter: #ILoveMedtrade
OCCC – It pays to talk up Medtrade on Facebook and Twitter.
Show planners will award prizes to exhibitors and attendees throughout Medtrade as part of its Social Fan Appreciation Giveaway promotion.
“We want people talking about their favorite new products, the best sessions—the things they can’t wait to get back home and put into use,” said Christina Brown, founder of Stina Bee Marketing & Events and social media director at Medtrade 2013. “When the industry starts to talk together, we can get so much more accomplished.”
To take part, participants must “like” Medtrade on Facebook and/or follow @MedtradeConnect on Twitter. Then they can spend the show posting photos and comments to the two sites, tagging posts with #ILoveMedtrade.Randomly-selected winners will be chosen throughout the show to receive gift bags with fun items and Visa gift cards.
Participants will gain more than prizes: Connecting with other attendees is crucial for sharing ideas and staying on top of a constantly changing industry, say providers. Provider Paul Retcofsky says he has been using Twitter here at the show to engage with colleagues about key issues.
“We’re right in the middle of big changes in the healthcare industry,” said Retcofsky, operations and purchasing manager at Grand Prairie, Texas-based MetroCare Home Medical. “How is this all going to affect us? The answer to that question comes from talking to others in the industry. Those of us who are still here need to know what to do next.”
