Type 2 diabetics: disconnect between knowledge, action

WASHINGTON - Patients and doctors are not doing enough to manage Type 2 diabetes, says a survey commissioned by an endocrinologists' group and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. In the survey of 780 patients and 400 primary care physicians, 69% of patients felt knowledgeable about how to manage their condition but 81% of doctors said they were frustrated by the number of Type 2 diabetes patients who did not follow prescribed treatments.
