Univita buys All-Med

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Two companies with integrated homecare models have joined forces to cover more than 5 million patients.

Univita Health announced this week that it has acquired Miami Lakes, Fla.-based All-Med Services of Florida, combining its 4-million patient roster with All-Med's 1 million.

“Our model that is based on the integration of home care and complex care management continues to demonstrate transformational value for health plans and other payers,” stated Hugh Lytle, president and CEO of Univita, in a release. “The addition of All-Med will allow us to expand that model, and grow into new geographical markets even more quickly and effectively.”

Univita's model focuses on the 30% of patients that make up about 90% of U.S. healthcare spending, according to the release.

Together, Univita and All-Med will “enter into accountable care agreements that deliver improved patient care and provide added predictability to health plans,” according to the release.
