Will The Scooter Store have to close its headquarters?

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -The CEO of The Scooter Store told the Texas Workforce Commission the company might close its headquarters as early as Sunday, March 31, if it does not line up additional financing, according to an article from the San Antonio Express News. In a letter to the commission, CEO Marty Landon said the company has obtained “sufficient financing to allow it to avoid the immediate closure of the New Braunfels facility until March 31, 2013.” Landon said he is optimistic the company will remain operational beyond that date. Should finance negotiations over the next two weeks prove unsuccessful, Landon said that the remaining Scooter Store employees would be permanently laid off, according to the article. The letter did not address the future status of employees outside of New Braunfels.
