Diabetes news never seems to get better

Well, it's Diabetes Alert Day again and it seems like the news only gets worse.

From 2008 to 2010, the number of diabetics in the US grew from 23.6 million to 26 million. The south continues to be a "diabetes" belt in this country. More and more children are being diagnosed with highly-preventable Type 2 diabetes (shame, shame on the parents and doctors of these kids).

And if you're stuck in the earthquake-tsunami-nuclear meltdown region of Japan and you have diabetes, you're probably screwed right about now.

The American Diabetes Association holds its alert day every year to call attention to this ongoing public health crisis. Take a this test to see if you are at risk for Type 2 diabetes.
