Friday mash up: The heat, a lipdub and anchovies

It's Friday and is it me or does it seem like it's been a LONG week?

Maybe it's the heat. For those of you who think it doesn't get hot in the summer in Maine, think again. It's 98 degrees right now in Portland, according to Intellicast. 98 degrees. I think it's a little hotter, actually. I scooted home over lunch to make sure my cats had enough water (I threw a couple of ice cubes into their bowl while I was at it), and my car thermometer read 101 degrees. I know, I know. Considering it was 30 degrees four months ago, I should be basking in it. As comedian Bob Marley said on a radio show this morning, "Turn the heat ON!"

Anyway, since it's been such a LONG and HOT week, I have few entertaining items for you courtesy of Pride Mobility Products and AAHomecare.

Haley Taffera, who works in the marketing department at Pride and who just might be one of the nicest people working in the HME industry, sent me a link to a video of the "Clark Retirement Community LipDub." In case you're like me and you have no idea what a lipdub is, it's a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. So in this video, the lip synching is provided by senior citizens and the audio dubbing is provided by Michael Buble. It's filled with home medical equipment, from scooters to canes to adult diapers, and it's really, really funny.

And AAHomecare started a new blog feature today called "Meet the Team," where it gives background and "fun facts" on the people who work at the association. The first installment is on President and CEO Tyler Wilson. Who knew he liked anchovies? So do I, especially on pizza!
